MULTIMEDIA DESIGN FOR MUSEUMS
The museum setup design process begins by gathering the client’s requirements, content type, location, and target audience.
Once we’ve collected the client’s needs, we move on to creating a setup concept.
During this phase, we assess and discuss the most suitable multimedia technologies for effectively conveying the content with the client. Once we’ve established a convincing concept, we proceed to develop it in detail.
This involves creating visual previews and structuring them to align with the content and visitor interaction requirements. We review this detailed project through multiple meetings with the client, whether in-person or remotely, until it gains final approval.
We want to create a single working group, with the aim to achieve the best possible project based on the needs, the availability, and the creativity of the participants.
Once the “detailed” project is approved, we move to the definition of the timeline, when the delivery dates are put on paper by all the members involved in the production.
We follow these planning stages for any kind of production, from the creation of a multimedia totem for museums to the creation of an entire multimedia museum.
MULTIMEDIA DESIGN FOR EXHIBITIONS
The work of designing a multimedia exhibition follows the same itinerary as designing a museum set-up; however, since exhibitions (unlike museums) are temporary, some changes in the communication choices and in the type of hardware installed in relation to the costs are required.
Exhibitions offer entirely digital content more easily than museums: this is the case of immersive exhibits, in which the projections surround the visitors, granting them a strong emotional experience.
Further interesting cases are virtual exhibitions, in which the content is presented on the web or via videoconference.
